All About Our Eco Cotton Rounds
Are you a rampant cotton ball user? Well, we have a confession to make: We were at one point, too. That is, until we learned that cotton is one of the most environmentally unfriendly farming industries out there. Get this: It takes 20,000 liters of water to make enough cotton for just one t-shirt. One shirt. ONE!
Hearing this made us feel incredibly guilty. I mean, how much water did it take to create all of those disposable cotton pads we’ve used in our lifetime? But instead of wallowing in our un-sustainability, we decided to take matters into our own hands: enter our Eco Cotton Rounds.
Our Eco Cotton Rounds are a reusable, environmentally-friendly alternative to churn-and-burn cotton balls. But, like any new product, they come with a lot of questions and, ahead, we’re addressing the FAQs we commonly receive on them.Missed one of yours? Q: Why would I want to buy your Eco Cotton Rounds?
A: They’re a reusable alternative to the wasteful rounds that you throw out one time after use. They’ll also save you money because you don’t need to keep purchasing new cotton balls; you just throw ‘em in the laundry after use. Added bonus: They work wonderfully with our Makeup Remover. 🙂
Q: Whoa wait a second. Am I actually saving money and the environment by not using regular cotton rounds?
A: Absolutely! If you’re like us, you use two or three cotton balls a day. The cost of conventional, throw-away-as-you-go cotton rounds can be up to $50 a year (or more, depending on your habits). Our Eco Cotton Rounds are just $22. As for the environment – every bit counts! Why throw away something that you can buy in reusable form?
Q: What are they made of?
A: We make them with GOTS-Certified Organic, unbleached cotton, so they’re super gentle on your skin.
Q: How do I use them?
A: They couldn’t be easier to use. It’s pretty much the same application as a disposable cotton pad, but more fun. Just pour a teaspoon or so of our Makeup Remover onto an Eco Cotton Round and swipe across your eyelids. We also love using the Eco Cotton Rounds with our Cleanser and Toner – just like with the Makeup Remover, pour a bit of the product onto the round and swipe across your skin. This method of cleansing really works to get all the extra dirt and grime off.
When you’re done with them, toss them in the handy-dandy wash bag we provide and throw them in with the rest of your laundry. Viola!
Q: I’ve washed my Eco Cotton Rounds and they still have a stain from my mascara. How do I get it off?!
A: Okay, this is a two-part answer. One, if you think the pad is still dirty, go ahead and wash it again. Two, in all likelihood the pad is entirely clean and has just been stained – like a white towel that loses its luster after several uses.
This doesn’t mean that your cotton pad is dirty or bacteria-ridden, it’s just showing its age a bit. If you can ignore it, that’s our recommendation. If you can’t, we understand: email us a firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send a replacement.
